Dreaming Cities is an investigation of relationship, intimacy and presence. It wishes to inspire us to be aware in our bodies, in the spaces we inhabit in the world and to people around us.

Today, we humans have a unique opportunity to travel and take endless photos, but the question remains: Have we truly been there? Did we dare to show ourselves as authentically as possible? Can we become ‘travellers’ instead of ‘tourists’—engaging, bringing new life? Less consumers, more explorers, lovers, with a passion and intensity that fills us from within?

Two dancers and a photographer have traveled between Rome, Oslo, London, and Amsterdam. With roots in contemporary dance, Argentine tango and theater, they have engaged in a dialogue with the cities, exploring a playful interaction with their inhabitants and the unpredictable events of urban life.

In the performance the photographic material enters in live collaboration with the dancers, projections and objects. The photos creates a labyrinth of memories and stories that become a tapestry of lived experiences, where the past may not be distinguished from a possible future.

The performance space will be open in daytime as an exhibition with photos, projections, sounds and music for all visitors at Gamle Munch to enjoy.

Crew Dreaming Cities:
Alicja Ziolko and Bennie Bartels have been developing performances through interval-based collaboration since 1997. They have collaborated with Claudio Corrivetti since 2008, with Agnethe Tellefsen for the very first time for this project.
